While I know I'm not the target audience, I learned a few things that I hope will help me manage my stress. In that regard, I would recommend the book, but I found the glib tone to be off-putting.
The most egregious example of this is when the Nagoskis (correctly) identify the major source of stress in women's lives at the patriarchy, they insist on referring to it as "the patriarchy (ugh)" every single time it comes up. It feels dismissive of something they're framing as a major problem. Likewise, inventing a new emotion to desceibe the feelimg of being overwhelmed and calling it "foop", "foop-o-rama", "foop town". I struggled to take it seriously.
The advice is good, the delivery is not something that works for me; perhaps other will get more.

I sent a copy of this book to my mom, and I am further considering gifting this book to every woman I know. The kindness, love, science, and joy in this book is that important.

Wow I want to buy a copy of this for every woman I know (or even everybody honestly). I love how science-based and practical the Nagoski’s books are. My only complaint is that all the different terms start to get hard to remember, but I understand why they used them. Other than that this was a pretty approachable read and I’m glad I found it

i found the sections about sleep and about why exercising is good for mental health and stress to be the most helpful or enlightening for me and the rest to be a load of whatever. i ended up skimming the last like 3/4 of the book because the jokey wording was irritating and much of what was written were things i have heard from online or people in my life. i also found the wording to be frustrating because so much of things that were true were worded in the “you don’t owe anyone anything” type of way which is just something that i strongly personally disagree with encouraging people to do. i can see how this would be helpful to people in their 30s and on who are just beginning to learn about topics in this book but it was not for me.
