Forster is always a win. Beautiful, pithy writing and excellent portraits of character navigating their submerged feelings. And love a good description of Italy and family.

4.5 ⭐️ Wow. I came into this book with low expectations due to some of the reviews, and I have to say I’m truly baffled. I thought this book had some beautifully poetic prose. It made me laugh out loud and gasp in shock/delight. I felt all of the indignation I was meant to and all of the warm fuzzies, too. Honestly, my biggest criticism is that it could have been about 50% longer. Loved it!
