This was super readable, I devoured it in like a day, which is rare for me with non-fiction books. It definitely spilled some tea on the inner workings of Scientology and Hollywood which was delicious (let's be frank, I read it for the drama). So overall I liked it. Having said that though I think Leah Remini felt like Scientology's only real problem was that L. Ron Hubbard was no longer at the helm. She wrote this book only two years after leaving the church and I feel like she still had a lot to unpack.

I found this so interesting! I have watched her TV series so I do know a lot about Scientology already. But I really like this because we got her story. The show is mostly other peoples stories and like the rules and all that stuff so it was really interesting to see her thoughts and her process of leaving the church and what she thought of it, also it was really interesting to learn about her life. I really enjoyed that because she is really interesting and actually so funny like she made me laugh in this book a lot. Also, this is a Tom Cruise hate account, so it was interesting to learn more about him, because she actually had like contact with him in Scientology.

Had very little opinion of Leah Remini before this, aside from seeing a few episodes of various shows she's been on. I came away thinking she's hilarious and very transparent about who she is and what's she's been through. Also she curses a lot and I love that. I recommend listening to the audiobook to hear her read it.

Lovely book, this story is heartbreaking and mindblowing. Over here in Europe (I grew up in Germany), there is almost only negative publicity on Scientology and I was aware of some of the practices, but this really explains the attraction and terrible impact of Scientology on its members. I feel sympathy for Leah and all other (ex-)scientologists. The book was an easy read, with some juicy Hollywood-stories and great, realistic insights into the system of Scientology.
