Able & Rylie

Book 4 in the Sick Boys series is about Able and Rylie. This books digs into Rylies past and her moving past it to be with Able. Good book, good character development throughout the series. Not quite as spicy as the first three but definitely worth the read!

loved this!

Abel and Rylie’s story was so good! I was sad they only got one book, where Dean and Avalon got three, because I really loved this book! This was much more fast paced and everything came to a head rather quickly but I’m so happy for their ending.

I was looking forward to this book because I was interested in Abel and Riley's tension in the first 3 books.
It felt like the story was moving way too slowly and we only got to the core of the plot by 80% of the way through.
I was also expecting to hear more about Abel's past considering his trauma response throughout the previous books, but the focus was on Riley, and Abel's past was summarised in 1 chapter.

YES!!!

Rylie was a constant presence in the Sickboys 1-3. She was the only person Avalon felt like she could relate to, and they had some mutual understanding and respect for one another that allowed them to co-exist without taking the others lack of questions or otherwise as something personal - according to Ava, people 'like them' don't ask each other questions for a reason. Reason being - TRAUMA. With a captial T!

Wicked Dark Heathens finally gives us more info about not only Abel Frazier, but finally gives answers about Rylie.

Rylie's past is awful. Honestly, like Avalon, I'm sure she could have had her own three books if Lucy wanted to draw it out. The poor thing.

Abel, finally, chased her down and explicitly admitted his feelings. It wasn't until he was done holding back - which we very clearly saw evidence of him doing in the previous books when Ava was picking up on something - that things finally began to move forward.

Of course, that trauma that Rylie had kept hidden came back with a vengence in this book. You'll have to read to find out more because #nospoilers.

**BEWARE OF TRIGGERS**
This book, like the previous three, deals with topics that will be triggering for some, uncomfortable for many. Be sure to check the content warning before you dive in.

In conclusion I love this series and can't wait for the next book to pick up where this one left off with Braxy-boy in the epilogue :-)

This whole series is an entirely different breed of love letter to victims of sexual assault. Too many people gloss over the very real pain and after effects of trauma, but not this author. This author dives deep and doesn't come up for air. For every hurt and broken little girl, young and old, this series is our voice, the revenge we could never take for ourselves.
