This one was the sweetest and the most special book that I have read this year! I am just in love with Beckett Porter and Evelyn St.James. This is such a special one because I could relate to Beckett to a whole different level personally which is very different for me! Beckett with all the animals is just a sweetheart! A man who loves his family and friends from the bottom of his heart!

"Wanting you has never been a question."

3.5 stars

After meeting each other in a bar and spending a couple of nights together, Evie disappears without leaving Beckett any contact details, as far as they were both concerned it was a one night stand, even though they both know they connected a lot deeper than that. So when Evie appears on the farm Beckett works at, he is confused. This beautiful stranger whom he has not stopped thinking about is suddenly there in person. When she disappears again, Beckett knows he most move on.

Why then does Evie long to return to Inglewild, to spend time with the mysterious guy covered in tattoos who cannot look at her without showing how much he longs for her. Perhaps they really do need to remain in each other's lives.

I feel a bit conflicted about In the Weeds. There are some gorgeous quotes that I couldn't but swoon at and I loved Beckett as a character (his soft spot for animals is adorable), but the miscommunication drove me insane. If our two MCs spent a little more time communicating that reminiscing on their weekend in bed constantly, the third act break up (which had me rolling my eyes) would not have happened and they'd have lived happily ever after much quicker.
I know this would have meant a much shorter book but for me, the way things were longed out just felt a bit unnecessary.
I could have also done with a bit more plot, because the book literally is just 400 pages of Evie and Beckett pining over each other (JUST TELL THEM HOW YOU FEEL).

Eek sorry this sounds pretty negative but it was cute but idk, it didn't quite work for me.

In the weeds OR
Sex in the weeds am I right ladies.

Not as good as the first one in my opinion but I did enjoy it! I liked her but not him. The father putting sense into him in the end was good.

I liked the trivia scene too

This book - I cannot put into words well enough how much I loved this book. B. K. Borison’s descriptive writing was so beautiful and strongly painted word pictures of this beautiful place that you will want to call home. Lovelight Farm through Evie and Beckett’s eyes was this warm, magical, calming space- I want to plant MY roots there after reading it.

Beckett - this man. I identified with his social anxiety and sensory issues (I have a daughter who has needed headphones to mask sound over the years, and a son with sensory issues as a child). I,too, HATE small talk.

“I am pushing my capacity for socialization today and it’s not even noon.”

And yet he shows up for the town, his family, his people out of his immense love.

“One hundred percent Beckett. Practical and sweet—care through action.”

Evie- I identified with her sense of being a little lost. Needing a career change, she is trying to “find her happy” and goes to the last place she remembers being happy- Lovelight Farm- where her one weekend fling lives and works- Beckett.

Throw in some forced proximity and the magic that is the farm and surrounding town, and you have this warm fuzzy hug of a book.

“Maybe this is what happy is supposed to be. A person, a place.”

I’m torn over rating this book. So I’d say a 3.5 ⭐️. As much as I loved the book, some things actually kind of upset me. 1. Their meeting was absolutely adorable and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that she wanted to be at Lovelight Farms, when she realized she needed a break. 2. I love small town vibes, it felt a bit overkill in this book with that stupid phone tree. 3. Love all the animals there in the Bonus Chapter (I was kind of hoping there was a kid too). 4. I found myself skimming at times, kind of dull in places, between dialogue. 5. For a family that loves Beckett so much, his sisters are kind of selfish- I’m so glad his dad talked to him about it. 6. The timeline for that pivotal 48 he was getting the trees, doesn’t make sense/line up…. Neither does the gap between his video and her being there…. I am just sad at my final feelings on this book. I’m still going to finish the series!

“But that’s the thing about happiness, I guess. You can show whatever you want to the world and not feel a lick of it inside yourself.”

3.5 ⭐️ SPOILERS! This would’ve been a solid 4 stars if not for the third act breakup. I looove Beckett & Evelyn and I was really enjoying this, even more than Lovelight #1, until I got there. She should have waited or called, not just up and left. He should’nt have jumped to conclusions and looked to see if her stuff was still there, rather than just ignoring it. I will say that I do feel like Beckett thought it was a legit breakup and I appreciated the fact that she didn’t treat it like one. Other than that, this exceeded my expectations as a part of this series and I will probably continue to read them.
