This book..... I don't know. I love the plot alot but I thought that the pacing was a bit too fast. Like how Edward went from talking to his Dad then suddenly it was 5 months after? And in some parts I got confused because Edward kept on refering to Ady as his friend. But I'll give this another try next time.

I have to be completely honest here, this wasn't my type of book. Being that it is from a male's perspective I was really excited about reading it, however, I never found that moment where you know when you're completely invested in the character. At the very least the main character!

I really think it has something to do with the way it was narrated. It is mainly from Edward's point of view and there's all this inner dialogue about how he feels instead of conversations between him and the other characters. I was waiting for that moment to arrive when I really liked him but I never got to it. There also seemed to be a back and forth between the times and I could never get quite steady with the story.

It is one that I may have to read again later to see if it will grow on me but for now it just wasn't my type. It isn't a normal run of the mill romance book, however, so if you're looking for something different and a little bit angst-y, then you may like this.

Only For You was an interesting novella. It does predominantly focus on Edward’s quest for love, and his quest certainly didn’t run smooth!

Unfortunately, I didn’t really connect all that well with Edward and his best friend Ady. Edward just seemed to make several snap decisions and his mood would fluctuate depending on the response he received to a question, which I found a little jarring when I was reading, but really, his moods weren’t all that different to many people’s! I did want him to get his happy ending though, and I did end up feeling quite sorry for him during some occasions.

The story took a little while to get going for me, but once the plot really began to flow, I started to enjoy Only For You a lot more than I originally had been. I liked how the majority of it took place in Edward’s point of view, and that the third part of the novella, which was from Ady’s point of view was written in song lyrics that reflected her thoughts and feelings. It was a nice twist and I really liked it.

Overall, Only For You was an interesting story that once it got going, I really enjoyed reading.

Only for You is a young adult contemporary romance told in an invigorating voice of a male perspective. It's very rare to find a young adult book focusing on the male's point of view. It's the story of friendship, love and family. Ray has a knack to pull in the reader into the story. Only for You is an eloquent romantic story and Ray's calligraphy is something that has to be valued.

All the fun starts in college. Edward, Jack, Ryan, Daisy and Ady are the good friends. Edward has been a playboy until he started dating Daisy. Could Daisy be able to change his frivolous attitude? Or is Edward faking the relationship with Daisy? Initially, I loathed Edward but slowly I saw the cause behind his levity. Ady has substantial role in the story. I was able to relate to Ady in multiple situations especially with her strange quirks. The story feels realistic and gets deep down the soul. I enjoyed all the characters and Daisy seems to be my lovable one. Edward goes through a lot - struggles, passion, possessiveness, heartbreak, perplexity. Ray has portrayed him as a perfect youngster. Although Edward is quite possessive at certain moments, he seems to realize it later. The last part was told in the form of poem and that was quite impressive. The characters are flawed which I loved. The book is set in the most amazing place, London. Waitakere Ranges is one of my favorite places in Auckland and after reading it, I would love to start backpacking. Honestly, Only for You is an emotional roller-coaster.

Ray has an exquisite writing style that captivate the reader. Only for You has definitely garnered a 5 star rating from me. All in all, it was fun, quick and an emotional read. Tista Ray, I hope you're one of the authors who can whip out a book a year, I'm already craving for more. (:
