I love that the characters are not generic white people, but it felt like instead it was generic black people. I wanted more than that. I liked the basic story, but that was all it was. Basic. I'll be reading the series because I like a clan, but I'm not hopeful for the writing.

Zero romance! I can’t stand books that are centered on sex. There was zero chemistry and I just didn’t care for where the story was going.

Audio narration was perfect. Storyline was good but mostly predictable. Will continue to listen to the series to see more from each brother.

2023 Update: I'm slowly going back through and rereading the first few books of the series so that I can continue on. I'm hoping to get these books as well as the "In the Heart of a Valentine" books read this year as well. My thoughts didn't really change much and I still think it's a solid start to the series.
I've been slowly making my way through Stephanie Nicole Norris' bibliography. I decided to start the Falling for a Rose series after I realized how connected it was to the In the Heart of a Valentine series. It was a solid read and good start to the series. 3.5 Stars
Safe With Me highlights the relationship between Samiyah and Jonas who originally start off as FWB. While Samiyah is coming off of a broken marriage, Jonas struggles with trusting women as they seem to only want him for his money and fame. The two quickly realize that they are unable to keep their relationship strictly sexual and they find that they want more. Norris does some interesting things with the plot especially as it relates to Jonas' past; however, I struggled a little bit with some decisions that Jonas makes in reference to another character. Honestly, they were mistakes that I can see a lot of people making; however, I feel like it made him too naïve of a couple of characters and then it forced Samiyah to forgive him too quickly. Readers should be aware that Samiyah does go back and forth quite a bit in this story. I could understand why she struggled so much; however, it may frustrate other readers. The chemistry was on point and the sex scenes were bomb. As I stated before, this was a solid start to the series and I'll definitely be continuing my read.
