I really liked Clementine’s and Iwan’s scenes together, they just bounced off one another that was so fun to read and be a part of. I loved that they started meeting in the present reasonably early on as well. I like that this wasn’t just held off until the end. I love how they explored how people change over 7 years and how you are the same but different, and it was almost like she had to learn to fall in love with him again.
I liked the little bits of magic in this book. It was very fun that it wasn’t just this apartment but also the pigeons and the mirrors too.
Overall the seven year wait that you know is coming is such a heart wrenching theme to play with. The idea that for the relationship to move forward there is time that MUST be spent apart, so much so that you could literally count down the days. What a spectre that must have been in his life. Knowing that there was this person who loved him and he was head over heels in love with was out of reach, but in 7 years it will be as if no time had passed for them. They will be still be in love. It must have felt like she died a bit for those 7 years. She existed but she didn’t exist yet.
I also liked how by the end Clementine had to let go of this younger Iwan, and by the end it did feel like a natural progression. It didn’t feel like it was losing him, or that they would have been a better match. This was the version of Iwan that she fell in love with, but it was exciting to see how the present day Iwan became the person she needed.
As a side note, I also loved the “Lemon” nickname. I would have never put that together but it was so cute, especially to come from the name Clementine.
Overall, just really good. If you want a sad (but I think not too sad) book that is also a romance with a bit of time-fuckery, then this is a book for you.

This was a beautiful story of timing and growth and self discovery, while also navigating grief and loss and being lost amidst it all. I loved our Lemon girl so so much, especially her quirks & courage, that most of us girls can relate to learning to embrace through the years. And Iwan, with his charm & his journey to discovering the strength of being yourself; how could these two be any more loveable? And that doesn’t include all of the other incredibly filled out characters, especially of the older women and their impact. I will say no more. A story of love, friendship, & journeying home to oneself & their heart, this novel made me laugh, cry, & kick my feet. I know this will be a story I keep with me for years to come & look forward to my future adventures back to this book.
