Clementine inherits her aunt’s apartment—which allows her to slip through time and meet Iwan seven years in the past.
Ashley Poston is a gem and this book is SO GOOD. I am a sucker for magical realism generally, and Ashley does them so well, integrating a little bit of magic with a flawless and heart-wrenching romance. This has so much angst and emotion and pain and joy and I just ate it up entirely. I sobbed through a good chunk of it, and audibly gasped at one point, so overall SOLID FIVE STARS. The plot was so original and while I guessed some twists (and totally missed others) I also stayed on my toes the entire time, not sure where things were going and loving the ride the entire way. The side characters were phenomenal and the book also made me EXTREMELY hungry since food was a major component! As a bonus, if you enjoyed THE DEAD ROMANTICS, there is also a fun little easter egg cameo in this one!
In short, I will read everything Ashley ever writes forever and ever and this is an instantly beloved book for me and that is all.
CW: Suicide/loss of loved one; grief

I absolutely loved this book.
Often when you love a book so much (The Dead Romantics), you have that fear that the next book by the same author won’t have that same magic as the last.
I had nothing to worry about!!! I adored the setting and the characters and the magic of it all. The serendipity and the way the story loops back on itself so neatly and satisfyingly.
I loved that as well as love/romance, it’s a story about time, aging, coming of self, adventure, friendship, choosing yourself and mental health.
I can’t wait to see what Poston writes next and I’m sad I’ve already finished this!
