Struggling with this one. I thought it would be spookier, more unsettling, supernatural, but instead is just another text enamoured with the ways people can be shitty to one another. Good for what it is, yes... but I’m also just so tired of people being shitty to one another.

Writing and drawing comics is hard, I know.

Having said that, not a fan of this story. Plot didn't go anywhere and emotional energy was put in the wrong place.

The art style suits the story well, but that may be the best thing I can say about this one. Maybe I missed the boat on this flavor of modern loneliness or hang out in different (healthier) social circles, but this story had an intensity that felt unearned. And I may be mistaken in assuming the author is a man, but this ultimately didn't feel like a man's story to tell.

This is a first-full length effort from the author. The distorted bodies in the artwork suits the creepiness of the story; it starts out sour and doesn't let up. It was interesting that it takes place in Australia; the exteriors and interiors could have been anywhere, but I could overinterpret the sense of isolation as being tied to living on an island nation. I was curious about what life is generally like for young people in whatever part of the country this is; is unemployment high, is it common to live at home with parents into adulthood, etc. so the book raised some questions for me, which is good.

I liked it but I’m still kind of confused. It didn’t feel fully fleshed out

Easy to read little creepy book. I liked it. If the pictures were more slick or sexy it could have been tawdry. The pictures were simple and relatable though so the grounded the kindof tacky plot. None of the characters are likeable but the scenes are carefully thought out and familiar.

The art is fantastic, it also has great tension which is really difficult to convey in comics but it’s very well done in this. Visually it’s great, but I do feel like the plot itself lacked depth. For a graphic novel length it has more of the plot of a mini-comic.
