He was unashamedly cruel, and even when Ella discovers this, she still can't stay away from him. If you need grovel for big betrayals, you won't find them here; instead the FMCs are unable to stay away due to a biological enthrallment, and so end up forgiving the orcs for *anything*.
I also found the writing a bit repetitive near the end, with too many "!?" and "she couldn't, yet she could, and she was!" moments. Though I imagine I wouldn't have minded so much if I liked the characters more. Add onto that the "everyone clapped" moment at the end

Initially I was invested in the friends to lovers/ second chance set-up between Ella and Natt, but it didn't seem to grip me as I'd hoped as the narrativ moved forward.
One of the key elements I have enjoyed about this series so far is the world building and the insight into this orc/human balancing act their society is carefully navigating and until the final third of this book there wasn't a lot of that. So it just seemed a bit flat when compared to what I've come to expect from this series.
Don't get me wrong, there was still a lot of steamy scenes, but without the support of a strong plot and character development it almost felt gratuitous and repeptitive.
As mentioned before, the final third is where the plot kicked in and I started getting sucked back in. I just felt it was a shame that there was so much 'filler'. I'd still recommend this series, and I will read Ella and Natt's bonus epilogue as I grew to like them. But I don't know that I would recommend this specific book.
