I really enjoyed the second orc sworn novel but what stopped me pushing into the 4 star mark was the lying. It felt a little similar to the first book and this might be the way of the orcs, but I just wanted a smooth sailing relationship. I plan to see if it happens again in the next books.
I absolutely loved Natt and Ella's relationship and moreover, how Ella feels like a little of what we might wish to embrace at times.
I was a little put off at how the issues of young orcs are sort of mentioned in the book, but it didn't take anything away from the main plot.

I found this difficult to complete, and will not be reading any further in the series. Although I understand fantasy, and dark romances, I do not find myself rooting for the orcs in these as they are gaslighting, manipulative, and project their own abuse onto the FMCs. In this, Natt reprimanded Ella for wanting him to act like a "pet" by being part of an affair, yet he dressed her and paraded her around like a pet. It was constant lie after lie from him, and not about minor things, and his his public rejection of her so he could have a new title was the end of any hope I had for these two.
He was unashamedly cruel, and even when Ella discovers this, she still can't stay away from him. If you need grovel for big betrayals, you won't find them here; instead the FMCs are unable to stay away due to a biological enthrallment, and so end up forgiving the orcs for *anything*.
I also found the writing a bit repetitive near the end, with too many "!?" and "she couldn't, yet she could, and she was!" moments. Though I imagine I wouldn't have minded so much if I liked the characters more. Add onto that the "everyone clapped" moment at the endand the hunting dogs now accepting his pets because ??? and I was so done with this.

Gosh, I really enjoyed this one. In the beginning I thought maybe more than the first but now I'm not sure. Maybe just in a slightly different way. I also like that we got a little further insight into Grimarr and Jule. Finley Fenn really takes you an emotional roller-coaster with both sets of characters but with Natt and Ella, I was even more unsure how and if they would finish the novel.

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with this installment of the Orc Sworn series. After reading #1 and #5 I've become a bit obsessed with this universe and it's characters. But compared to books #1 and #5 I don't think this delivered as successfully.
Initially I was invested in the friends to lovers/ second chance set-up between Ella and Natt, but it didn't seem to grip me as I'd hoped as the narrativ moved forward.
One of the key elements I have enjoyed about this series so far is the world building and the insight into this orc/human balancing act their society is carefully navigating and until the final third of this book there wasn't a lot of that. So it just seemed a bit flat when compared to what I've come to expect from this series.
Don't get me wrong, there was still a lot of steamy scenes, but without the support of a strong plot and character development it almost felt gratuitous and repeptitive.
As mentioned before, the final third is where the plot kicked in and I started getting sucked back in. I just felt it was a shame that there was so much 'filler'. I'd still recommend this series, and I will read Ella and Natt's bonus epilogue as I grew to like them. But I don't know that I would recommend this specific book.
