Cosy misogyny (not a typo) in a rural setting. The plotting is predictable, the pacing abrupt and the dialogue downright bad but we get lots of stereotyped images of roses and sunshine. Noone much cares about the murder victim anyway- she deserved if for being anti-smoking and a vegetarian and even worse an environmentalist who cares about the ozone layer.

The love interest goes from not caring about the protagonist to warming up to him while he goes in the other direction and becomes apathetic to her. There's a gender subtext here too. My eyes rolled back so far in my head I will have trouble reading the next bit. They all have Scottish accents- och aye a wee dram of whisky.

I hope I can remember NOT TO READ ANY MORE OF THESE. I want a cosy mystery that isn't cringe.
