Honestly, I've never loved a 5th book in a series before this one. The absolute SETUPS in all of the previous stories. It keeps making rules and subverting them in the coolest ways. This one had a few different genres wrapped in it. It was a heist, a horror, absurdism(?),  a drama, and a tavern one shot all in one. It was just a GOOD TIME. the best thing about this is that Matt makes us love his characters and they feel like real people. With the hope through all of these books it remains a great time. I can only hope for the future of this series. It will be the litrpg fiction definer like The Hunger Games did for ya dystopia. And it is so worthy.

The plot progression and conflicts are amazing! 

We go through 3 dungeon levels! All of which are unique and awesome! 

This book does focus on a lot on other characters and plot progression, so not as much time is devoted to Carl and Donut. It made me a bit sad, but still, Carl and Donut do grow a lot and we can see it.
