I’d really anything to learn more about The Exorcist. But this was a fun read. This guy loves Mark Kermode as much as he loves Billy and Bill! I never want to work with a director like Friedkin tho.

If you are a fan of both the book and the movie adaptation of The Exorcist, then choosing to read this book is something you should absolutely do. "The Exorcist Legacy" is an engrossing and well-researched book that explores the far-reaching effects of one of the most famous horror films of all time. By delving into the film's background, making-of, and cultural impact, Nat Segaloff gives readers a thorough comprehension of why "The Exorcist" lingers in the minds of viewers long after it was first released.

The book does an excellent job of analyzing the film's lasting impact. Nat Segaloff expertly covers the impact of "The Exorcist" on the horror genre and its numerous influences. Readers will gain a deeper appreciation for the film as a whole after delving into its themes, such as the conflict between religion and science.

The main film and its production are not the only topics covered in this book; it also discusses the book itself, all of the sequel films that have been produced, and the television series. Additionally, it sheds some light on the new trilogy (I believe the first movie has already been released, but I have not yet watched it).

In sum, "The Exorcist Legacy" is an enthralling and illuminating tribute to a masterwork of cinema. This book is well worth reading at least once, whether you are a horror movie buff or just interested in the franchise's history.

I did enjoy this book, it really felt like an homage to the original book and movie, what better way to commemorate the 50 years than with a book like this? to be fully honest I do like horror movies, but the exorcist is not a movie that I have watched from beginning to end, I was born in the eighties, but even then this was the movie everyone was afraid of, really a thing of legends, so we (me and my friends) we would get the videotape of the movie and try to watch bits and pieces, but always it downed in us like a curse and for some reason or the other we were never able to finish.

In this book we get to learn what inspired the book, the producers, what people thought that really related them to the story, and we even learn some titbits of when the movie went first in theatres, of course I wont give spoilers, but I do recommend you to get this book for you, or for someone you know that loves horror movies, it is worth of our time, and of course it will live on, just like the story that gave it a name and a meaning.

Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books, Citadel, for the free ARC and this is my honest opinion.

This was an excellent look at a movie that still manages to be impactful to this day. It had information outside of the initial film which I really appreciated because part of a legacy is the sequels it spawns.

I received an ecopy of this book through Netgalley; however, my opinions are my own

With the 50th anniversary of the release of the original Exorcist coming up, this book delves into the last fifty years with this movie. It goes into detail about the original movie and its making and any subsequent sequels and spin offs inspired by this haunting movie.

I have never actually seems the Exorcist, and probably never will since I think it will keep me up at night. I am not a horror person, but I am glad I read this book. Without actually having to watch the movie, I feel like I now know enough about this phenomenon to not feel completely left out when references to this movie come up. This was a thoroughly researched book with a lot of detail and interesting information surrounding this movie and the craze that followed. I really enjoyed the first half of the book that talked solely about the movie and its making. The second half of the book got into the sequels and any other adaptation inspired by the original and, to me, it wasn’t as interesting as the first half, but it was still good. I think for Exorcist fans and horror fans who have seen and enjoyed this movie, this is going to be a great book! I enjoyed this book and I previously didn’t have much knowledge of the Exorcist, so I think true fans will love this!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book!
