One of Holmes' short stories where he comes to the aid of the British government

Interesting depictions of Mycroft here.
You get more sights of Holmes in action which is enjoyable.
I felt the ending could have been dragged out a little longer and not finished quite so pat but alas, I was not the editor.

I read this was one of Conan-Doyle's favorite Sherlock Holmes stories and I can see why. I'd say this is my favorite Sherlock Holmes story I've read so far (I haven't read that many). It's very exciting with many twists and turns. I'd say the last story I read "The Adventure of the Cardboard Box" didn't have much mystery which was probably intentional as Conan-Doyle devoted more time to the reason for the crime. This one is a straight forward mystery story and you'll be amazed as Holmes puts the clues together and solves the crime. I would say this is probably a good starting Sherlock Holmes story.

A very fun mystery story.
