While I will admit this was a page-turner of a book, the writing styles of Monique's perspective versus Eveyin's never felt harmonial to me. That is to say I found myself drawn in when reading about Evelyn and unintentionally annoyed at Monique's character (until the ending of course).

She's introduced as honest and forthcoming, but is often presumptuous when speaking to Evelyn. It almost feels like two different people wrote the book, as I felt talked down to when explained bisexuality and LGBTQ+ issues by Monique's perspective. I would expect this from a teen novel, not from this story.

But I can't deny my eyes watering at least twice near the end of the book. This is a good story, maybe my personal preference is just getting in the way of fuly enjoying that. I didn't feel it had a strong start, but I'm glad it got better the farther along I read.

Everyone was telling me to “WAIT FOR THE PLOT TWIST.” The final plot twist (personal opinion) was initially shocking; then it wasn’t… However definitely still and interesting twist.
I also predicted three very large parts of the book- but I don’t hold that against the book because in all honesty I loved it.

I avoided this book for the longest time because I feared it was overhyped for the sake of overhyping. But I shouldn't have, because it's very well deserved. In a lot of ways, it was magnificent. It was effortless to read and tough to put down. It's also been an incredibly long time since a book has bought me to tears, yet Seven Husbands had no problem; not once, but twice. This should be one on everyone's book list.

I loved this book and the way it was written. It made me laugh and cry at the same time. It's about women just trying to do their best while living their lives however they want and learning to be unapologetic about it, too.

Evelyn and all the characters were so fascinating in their own ways. Each relationship was different but it all fit so well in to the story. Of course, I definitely did not always agree with Evelyn’s actions, however I loved her. She was simply unapologetically herself and knew what she wanted and got it! As for Monique, her story didn’t quite captivate me and I did figure the revelation out beforehand, however I like the reason to why she was chosen to work with Evelyn.

There was as many different challenges and scenarios bought into the book and all of which I’d me reflecting. You tend to forget how different things were 60 years ago and so this book provides that reminder as well as showing how these issues still show their faces in todays world too.

The love, happiness and highs of this book was beautiful to read but the pain, heartbreak and loss of it really pulled at the heartstrings. I think there were some parts where I felt the story slowed and wasn’t all that necessary, while there were other parts I wanted a bit more focus on. However, even with just those brief scenes where I wanted more, they still made a hell of an impact!
