3 the stars are entirely thanks to the stunning art. 0.25 stars because I think the concept was very interesting even if the execution poor.

The characters were hard to like. The pace felt off and the ways the plot was advanced felt illogical and not well thought-through. The romance felt very forced, rushed and OOC for Nina (+ it made me feel queerbaited).

Would probably read the others just cause the art is so beautiful though 🤩

Beautiful art on every page. A quick read with an interesting premise but fell short with a few pacing and knowledge issues
Spoiler (seems a given the character just knows magical things right off the bat because of the 'forums')
and a few predictable tropes which I didn't enjoy.

Would probably cater more for a teen / young adult audience to have their Buffy moment much like 90s kids got growing up.

The art style is what drew me to this book. The colors and illustrations are beautiful. All of the characters are so pretty. Some of the dialogue was good, but everything else about this book was confusing and terrible.

The plot was all over the place. I was so confused the entire time while reading this book. Literally nothing made sense, and Nina’s family was terrible.

I would only recommend this book for the illustrations.
