Love & Retaliation J A Owenby

5 STARS!!!!

Heart-wrenching. Dark. Intense.

Owenby doesn’t disappoint. She has fast became one of my favorite, auto-read authors.

Love & Retaliation is a dark romance. That shows just how far we go for love. What limits we will break, and when we get that person back again just how much harder we will fight for their soul.

The 2nd in a 2 part series.

To say that this arthur puts this family through the wringer is definitely an understatement. This is the final book in this duet and it didn't disappoint. This picks up where Bk1 left off and Hendrix is feeling like he's let everyone he loves down when his dad was taken and wondering how he'd be able to even keep Gemma safe when he finds out she's done something that will put her life in danger and from there it only gets intense. Just what it is that she does well you'll just have to find out. If you've read the 1st book you'll want to grab this one.

Absolutely incredible conclusion to Hendrix and Gemma’s duet. I love all of these characters and feel like they are close friends which makes the emotional intensity and the suspense so much stronger.

The story takes off from the very first page, grabbing you by the throat and never lets up until the awesome ending. I actually had to put my kindle down a few times to take some deep breaths so I could get my heart rate to level off from the red zone. Reading this book should totally count as aerobic exercise because my heart got one heck of a workout as each wicked twist in the plot was discovered.

This story told from Hendrix’s POV brings a level of emotion to this story I wasn’t prepared for as he struggles with knowing his fiancé, the love of his life, is in the hands of Brandon Montgomery and he wonders if they will find her. Hendrix’s world is utterly rocked in this book from the events happening to his family, and he barely catches his breath before the next hit comes. His emotional pain is intense, yet his determination to step up and be there for his family is immensely powerful.

I will say the ending is so much more satisfying for all these characters go through. I truly hope there are future stories where we get to see more of these characters. I definitely want to see what happens with Zayne and whether he finds love.

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review. JA Owenby is an absolute 1-click, must read author without even having to read the book description - just download it onto my kindle and let me dive right in!

Once Again Expect The Unexpected. I was very excited to dive into Hendrix's point of view, and I was not disappointed. It was like I was in the rooms with everyone physically feeling their emotions. J A Owenby took us on another emotional rollercoaster, one minute your full on ugly crying, next chuckling at something Mac has said, to full on anger, to smiling and feeling so grateful the characters got to share certain moments. This family has been through SOOOO MUCH just to get there HEA they sooooooooo deserve!!!!
Thank you J A Owenby for allowing me to go along on this journey with Gemma & Hendrix And The Gang.

All of the feels. I was so glad to finally get Hendrix's POV and it was one of the best ones I have read. This is a bit darker than I thought, but I still loved the story and I was so happy with the ending. This is one emotional roller coaster I didn't mind being on and one series I def. do not want to end.

All the feels- finally hearing Hendrix’s point of view was enough to break anyone. The dark, seedy underworld has once again come to harm the Harrington/Thompson crew and the anguish you feel from each character is enough to destroy anyone. Such amazing writing and story telling could not put this book down.

This book will rip your heart to shreds just so the characters can stitch it back together. Written in Hendrix's pov, you finally get a glimpse into the hell he experienced when Gemma did what she did. It's raw, gritty and beautiful. Definitely a must-read.
