I would hate to be unfair to this book because there were times I did enjoy reading it. However, I personally think its extreme popularity made me as a reader to expect too much out of it.
Atticus was the only character I found properly round and well-structured and I liked the passages that involved him and his wit. Aside from him, I was truly hooked on the pages where Tom Robinson's trial was described. For me that was the peak of the novel and all the essence I could find in it. When it comes to the rest of it however I believe it was perfectly uninteresting.
