Well…actually pretty well written and not what I expected.

There’s detailed imagery, a reasonable dilemma, and decent characters.

Small town young woman looking for decent work post-grad (relatable) takes a less than suitable job to pay the bills and meets a rich man (bull man but still) that loves and spoils her.
There’s a lot of 🌶️ but you knew that when you clicked it.

The cover is exactly what you think it is so…proceed with caution.

I started reading it as a joke honestly because one of my fav vtubers recommended it and... SHE WASN'T WRONG ITS A DECENT BOOK LMAO
Really nice world building, characters are like from typical i would say romance book yeah but the diverse of all imaginable "monsters" living among humans even showing the clashes and ugly parts... yeah pleasantly surprised at this fantasy kept realistically?? but yeah be wary that yep it is erotic book lmao but as an asexual person I could handle it so many ppl can easily 😂 have a good read!

Surprisingly, I enjoyed this read! Probably not enough to relisten/reread but it was entertaining enough to hold my attention. It definitely had its flaws, but was lighthearted, interesting, and hilarious to listen to. As a fan of monster romance, I enjoyed a contemporary setting.

I'm giving this strong points for creativity with the characters and world in the romance/erotica genres, even though the story itself is predictable (the mark of most romance anyway). Very much porn with plot, so if that's not your bag, don't bother.

Whenever a book features interspecies relationships, it can easily seem like a metaphor for interracial relationships in real life, and this is no exception. It has some mention of issues between humans and other species, but the issue is not deeply explored, as you might imagine given the genre. Additionally, because the story mostly glosses over the depth of majority-minority struggles, the presence of interspecies sex and relationships feels a little like fetishizing.

There were a few editing mistakes in the audiobook and a few moments where the story jumped forward in confusing ways.

Yah know what, this was a shockingly sweet romance amidst all the utter filth monster smut scenes.

The concept was actually very funny and well written (if a little thou dost protest too much about the main “milkers” not being sex workers because classy pharmacy and also checklists) I really enjoyed the building romance between the main characters, just the smut was not my personal thing.

The only bit that actually put me off was the

little finger under the foreskin </end spoiler> that was mentioned way too many times. Otherwise I’d be keen to read more set in this landscape/town, just with less descriptive milking!
