for a required book for college, it was actually pretty good. the writing was sometimes tedious to read because it bogged down the action and was very proper, but the story was great. predictable but great. definitely an interesting read but don't think i'll ever be rereading this haha.

Had to read this book for a history class but I enjoyed it once it began to pick up with both men being interested in the woman. Nothing really stuck with me after finishing the book, nothing new that is.

Extremely modern for an 18th century novel. I had to read this for an American Lit course, and I was surprised how apt and relevant it is to society today. I wish there was a modernized, YA version of this--that would be excellent!
