Ok I definitely liked this one more than the first one. I had a lot of fun.

PLEASE LOOK UP TRIGGER WARNINGS, there are some heavy topics discussed further into the book.

Yes it still felt like a gosh dang fever dream but that is likely just because it's under 300 pages and the author wants to fit everything in the story, which made it really easy to read and to want to continue to pick up.

I think I liked this more because Cassie was less annoying than Dani in the beginning but I loved seeing the mains from the previous book coming to support their old team.

Half of my annotations were my wattpad brain thinking of the most insane scenarios which half the time were untrue but some times i was right.

In my opinion these books are a good entry into hockey romances because techniques of the play aren't heavily described.

I don’t even know where to start. I think this one was worse than the first one.
This book starts with Cass (our fmc)
arriving at school with the help of her 3 older brothers. When she gets to her dorm she opens to the door to find her roommate getting it on with a guy and her brother’s wont let her leave the room & force her to watch 🤢 I mean, sure dude you like what you like but to make your sister watch with you… weird and gross.
I should have DNFed there. After that the story just becomes more ridiculous, annoying and over dramatic. Jaxon (our mmc) spends almost the entire book going back and forth between “No I can’t forgive her. I want nothing to do with her” to “I need her. No one else can even look at her.”

The writing itself feels clunky and repetitive. Take this excerpt for example

“After getting back to campus with a plan to spend my day working out and going over some assignments, I promptly fall asleep on the couch, not waking until nearly nightfall.
I have a lot to think about where Cass is concerned, especially after everything that happened at the wedding, and so I did the only thing that helps me sort through my head in times like these—practically kill myself in the gym. The moment I returned back to my place, I promptly collapsed on the couch, which is where I’ve stayed ever since, assuming Cass wouldn’t be back on campus until late afternoon.”

Two paragraphs in a row where Jaxon “promptly falls on the couch”
