I loved the first book in this series and was eager to carry on with this. I wanted to read this book because I love the rest of the 2012 – 2016 dystopian books including Divergent, Twilight, The Maze Runner and the Mortal Instruments. I wish I had read these during the hype of my childhood but I thoroughly enjoyed this book as a young adult.

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the Hunger Games. She and Peeta Mellark are miraculously still alive. Katniss should be relieved, happy even. After all she has returned to her family and her best friend Gale. Yet nothing is the way Katniss wishes it to be. Gale holds her at arm length and Peeta has turned his back on her completely. Also there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol – a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may have helped create. Much to her shock, Katniss has fuelled an unrest she’s afraid she cannot stop. And what scares her even more is that she's not entirely convinced she should try. As time draws near for Katniss and Peeta to visit the districts on the Capitol’s cruel Victory Tour, the stakes are higher than ever. If they can’t prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are lost in their love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying. This book is a young adult dystopia fiction.

I enjoyed this storyline and it was so action-packed but also romance and you didn’t know where it was going. I would have LOVED multiple POVs especially with the ending chapters because then we would have known what the inside plan was, but I also liked the big reveal and Katniss’s shock and thoughts. Again, I love Katniss – she is in the group of kick-ass women who I want to be and how strong I want to be.

The book left you with enough drama that it didn’t feel rushed but also left you wanting more that it keeps you hook to read the next book. I don’t believe they isn’t any weakness to this book I just don’t think it’s going to be the best of the series and it took me a while to get into. I would recommend this to anyone who likes kick-ass girls, fantasy novel and dystopian novels. I cannot wait to read the next book of the series.

We star-crossed lovers of District 12, who suffered so much and enjoyed so little the rewards of our victory, do not seek our fans' favor, grace them with our smiles, or catch their kisses. We are unforgiving.
And I love it. Getting to be myself at last.
