I accidentally picked this one up without realizing it was part of a series. Luckily there were no spoilers for the previous three books, so I can backtrack and start properly.

It was a little weird to see the author insert himself into his story, but it was also utterly captivating. I read it all in one day because I wanted to see it end. It was very Agatha Christie in a way but it still had its own unique charm. The mystery became apparent as the detective sorted through the clues, but it was still an enjoyable ride.

A series that improves as it goes along. Horowitz is clearly having a lot of fun mixing fact and fiction, with a suitably cosy crime plot attached to it all.
