Old Children's Book. Liked it as a kid, but haven't read it in years.

It's fine, perfectly fine... I just like more color in my illustrations, and I think if I lived in Boston I would be way more into it. But it's cute.

I immigrated to Boston from Ireland when I was a child and one of the first memories I have of the city is sitting on the little duck statues. My daughter was gifted this book and I had no idea it was set in the city, it was a fairly nice surprise. The story itself was adorable and now I need to look into whether it's true or not.

Anything that makes my daughter coo and smile will get great reviews from me.

Caldecott winner 1942 - a fun re-read. I love all of the mentions of places around Boston.

A classic children’s book that deserves to be on every shelf. There are few books about Boston, and this book serves as a tour guide on the famous city. My mom, a Massachusetts native, would read this book to my sister and I when we were little. We were lucky to tour Boston, the swan boats, and see the ducklings statue.

Such a charming book about Mr and Mrs Mallard wanting to keep their ducklings safe. Lovely illustrations.

This 1941 Caldecott Award winner is still one of the very best picture books in children's literature. It's truly distinguished, as well as clever, lovely, comical and heartwarming. I grew up on this story; AND my grandmother used to take my sister and me into Boston to ride on the Swan boats every spring. Now there's a beautiful bronze sculpture of Mrs. Mallard with Jack, Kack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouack, Pack and Quack following her across the Public Gardens. Oh my goodness, do I love it!

This was such a cute book!

I remember discovering about this book about 2 years ago on my trip in Boston. I went to the same public garden looking for the exact location of Robin Williams and Matt Damon scene in Good Will Hunting when they are sitting on a bench. I looked everywhere and because of my lack of research and my iPhone battery life I could not pinpoint it.

So instead I took a tour of Boston and learned about the book and I shelved this book in the farthest regions of my mind until now when I learn one of my friend is going to Boston for college. I immediately felt like I was in the park again because the illustrations of the book looks exactly like the real thing and could not believe how much effort that must have taken for a children's book to look real.

I enjoyed the story and it's great for kids the only issue I had was Mr. Millard simply left his wife all the heavy duty work of being a parent. She had to teach her kids how to swim, eat, walk in a line and being cautious with anything that has wheels. Other than that I really enjoyed the story and wished I could have read it sooner.
