This was such a satirically hilarious book from the POV of one of the wittiest and charismatic characters I've read, and yet the story has quite a lot of heart, which  rounds up the book perfectly.

Overall I really liked this! MMC was funny, clever and likeable. The plot was captivating and I had a good time trying to solve the various mysteries. However, my gripe with this book was that it felt like I was being set up to have no chance at predicting anything because we were never given all the information available. Much like my issues with Pierce Brown's Golden Son, MMC kept turning around and being like "luckily I had prepared for this" and a hidden army would leap out...like be for real... I really wish authors would stop doing this shit bc I want to feel like I'm on the same team as the protagonist and when they pull this bs it makes me feel left out :(( but anyways the tone and humour were great and on balance I had a good experience :)

I realize I have a bad habit of only realising things after others point them out.

The racism? The sexism? The blatant disregard for the systems that enable racism in the first place??? It’s,,, not fun. To say the least.

One extra star for having a somewhat enticing first 20 pages or so. I couldn’t get past 100.
