Sayb has no recollection of life before he became a student mage, he is struggling with his studies and is put into a program with a child like professor and a girl with secrets behind her smile. Together they travel the country writing wrongs and learning about each other and about Saybs powers .This could have been good but the needless panty shots and were annoying .

One from the Humble Bundle, a pretty fun magical adventure, though sometimes a bit dialogue heavy.

I am not sure, this one seemed VERY VERY familiar. But I cannot remember reading the manga or trying the anime. Oh well, still happy I had the chance to read it.

This was a pretty fun manga, though a bit heavy on the text, at times even with glasses I had to zoom in on my phone to read all the words. Which tired me out. I could have read it on my computer, but I am pretty sure I would have to zoom in (which doesn’t always improve the quality of the text). I would have rather have some more action, some more magic, some more OOMPF. Which does happen eventually, but not until the later third of the book.

The story was quite fun and at points exciting. Love the talk about history + witches + magic + see what kind of people walked the place, from Beastfallen to normal humans. I loved reading more about the various characters and what makes them tick. Like our girl Hort and her big secret. I just wanted to give her a hug after that. I would like to check out this world a bit more and get more background on it and hopefully see people accept witches more.

I loved the later third of the book. Because secrets come out. There is tons of kick-ass action. It gets really heated and I was fully invested. Loved that we got to see a glimpse of Louz/Loux powers, I cannot wait to see more of it.

Bit off put by how often we saw Louz/Loux panties (I know they aren’t hidden, but often we zoomed in on it or just got a better view) and I know Louz/Loux is I don’t know how many years, she still looks and often acts like a kid. Also how often we focussed on how big Horts boobs were. There are clothes, but at times I was like, yeah, I get it. Big boobs. One moment in the story was even not working for me because of this. Hort is telling her story and then boom we see her on her bed.. barely wearing anything. I am sorry, but for me that was just a turn-off. It made the story works less for me. I think if we just saw a bit and then the rest covered in blanket it would have worked better.

SpoilerAlso of course the MC has unlimited power that no one knew he had and that is why he sucks *rolls eyes* I am getting a bit tired of the pathetic MC but OH NO actually he is awesome trope.

The art? I loved it. Great details on the clothes and other things. And I liked the style. Loved that with just one glance you could see that the MC was tired and not doing so well. And that our Loux/Louz is always a genki loli. XD

All in all, despite some issues, I still had fun reading it and I will be continuing the series.

"We are going to get expelled, either way, I'd rather get kicked out after doing something cool."

Sayab is a magic student with no memories of his life before attending mage school. He must travel with his teacher and other students for special training when their plans suddenly change. I really enjoyed the art style, character design and composition of the scenes. I appreciated any world-building given, just because of how nice it looked. You can't go wrong with magical schools and hot headmasters named Albus.

The main character is fairly boring and one dimensional, but he doesn't have many memories so I will give him a break. The other characters were far more interesting but most of the conversations felt very one dimensional and childish? Loux is hands down the best character. For the most part, the story was interesting, and the plot twist did surprise me. Even though I was taken even more off guard by the fact all the characters completely disregarded that new information. I don't know, it was ok, but I won't be continuing the series.

So this manga really wasn't for me. It uses a lot of tropes that I don't really like thus it really lowered the rating. Firstly lets talk about the positives, the artwork was really good, and the character design for many of the characters was interesting.
That being said the characters fell flat for me, as did the world. I also found it to be a bit too fan servicy, which i felt detracted from the whole story.
I think if people like borderline ecchi fantasy manga this may be for them but I'd say steer clear anyone else.

I had really high hopes for this book, I should know better, years of consuming manga should have prepared me for such a level of disappointment
But it hadn't.

Let us start with the lack of overall interesting characters. Early on, I hoped that while the MC was super bland that the supporting party would help bring me around. It didn't.
Something that could be interesting and happen over a span of time literally happened in less than a chapter; their choice had no real gravity and really didn't have any consequences.
The only person I at any point found myself intrigued by was the lizardman, Kudo.

In the end, this manga is your stereotypical Ecchi, where everyone this guy is bad at everything, but then we learn that he's actually super powerful.

While I believe this manga series has potential, this volume fell short. My main issue with this manga was the portrayal of the female characters and “fan-service” - it was wayyyy over the top and excessive. I’d be willing to continue with the series to see where the plot goes IF the fan service was toned down a bit. The over-sexualization of the female characters was uncomfortable and took away from the plot & world-building.

Witches, Academy of Magic, a field trip, memory loss... Why did this not deliver?

I was very interested in the magic system the manga had to offer. I wasn't expecting a lot of development in that area, it being the first volume of a manga series, but apart from a bit of info dumping in the beginning, more to do with why the characters were where they were than how the magic works, there was almost nothing. There's not much magic going on, apart from a couple panels, that the Academy could be dedicated to any other subjects. You'd think that a manga about magic and witches would deal with that. You'd think.

I appreciated it going straight to the point and to the action but then it goes downhill from there, not much happens and we just go around in circles. They build up a lot of action that never comes around (there is some action towards the end but by that point I was already bored with the volume and didn't care about it).

I requested this volume because I believed the synopsis sounded interesting and I was curious about it. The idea is very appealing but the execution is not the best. It's mainly all exposition. The main character's past intrigued me, and yet he is so boring. There could have been so many things to explore, given he doesn't remember his past and he's on a quest to stay at this magic school. And the female characters are just... drawn so obscenely that it's a miracle I finished the volume, it's just ridiculous.

Heavy exposition, plain and forgettable characters, heavy fan-service. This combination unfortunately won’t make me pick up the next volume.

Meet our main character. He has the personality of cardboard.

Meet his supporting characters. They consist of boob and panty shots.

The plot? Who cares! It’s got panty shots.

Honestly, don’t waste your time and money. This is basically self-insert power fantasy manga, but not the good kind. The plot just happens, and only serves to show off inappropriate panty shots, and how awesome the main character is.
