I didn't even like this book that much and yet here I am crying over the ending
even tho this was veryyyy predictable I thought it was super fun and enjoyable. the characters were great, I loved having New York as the setting, and the ending clearly had something going for it to make me so emotional RTC

On Christmas Eve 17 year old Holly Chase was visited by the Ghosts of Christmas to help her see what a spoiled, selfish brat she had become. She didn't listen. And then she died. Now, in her afterlife, she's the Ghost of Christmas Past and her job is to help other Scrooges see the error of their ways before it's too late. Her current Scrooge is hot, young and his situation seems vaguely familiar...
I loved this YA novel about family, friendship, and how it doesn't cost a damn thing to be kind. Holly's character arc is *chef's kiss* perfection.

The clues the author is dropping along the way are transparent, the storytelling and writing are not helping create interest because the book is in the voice of an unimaginative, spoiled child, and halfway through the book there's nothing that suggests Holly deserves redemption if she can even earn it. I mean, she's not a murderer or genocidal maniac, but that's not exactly a high bar.

One of the best Christmas I have ever read. It had me turning pages and I couldn't get enough of any of the characters - each amazingly crafted. The entire world that has been created is so well-crafted and I loved every bit of it. Did I wish for a different ending? yes. But did I love the book and the way it ended? Abso-freaking-lutely.
