Yes!!! Wow so much better than I thought it was gonna be that’s why I gave it 5 stars. The story really interesting and captivating. Katz try to be inclusive but she was not very successful at it. The minority characters felt very stereo typical. We had Derrick who is almost an... exact replica of The character in The Partner Track.... That’s my only real complaint. Everything else... such as the pacing was good... interesting ending. Interesting characters. Very morally gray characters... Very thought provoking. Good book club book for young women starting out in corporate America

Rating books is so hard to me
But, I can appreciate that we didn’t get a necessarily happy ending. It gave us answers and felt complete. I enjoyed the last 30% the most. I just found myself being so frustrated by Alex’s character. The excerpts from the trial were always of interest but I almost wanted a little more before the chapter began. Anyways, I’m glad Jordan and Matt could be counted on in the end.

I did and didn't see the end coming.
I hit some part in the last third and couldn't put this book down...
And even though there were a few resolutions that I found a bit too easy, I'm really content with the pace.

This book might appeal to the really competitive. The characters grow and develop (or don't) in surprising ways and the main character takes you along an interesting route to where so is at present.

3.5 stars. This book is entertaining and very readable but also somewhat predictable and not terribly original. It hit close to home for me as someone who practiced M&A law but fortunately only a small portion of my experience mirrored the main character, Alex's. She really loses her way and became quite hard to root for though the author certainly tried to redeem her in the end.

Phew, this was a lot! Pretty sure my heart rate was high the entire time I was reading this book. These characters live such a different lifestyle from me, I found this very stressful to read -- but it's also the reason that I enjoyed it. Another reviewer called this a "legal thriller," and I'm not sure I'd go that far, but I was definitely speeding through it to find out what happened.

The Boys' Club was a book that I was seeing everywhere and I knew that I had to read it. And believe the hype - this book is fantastic. It hooked me in right from the start and I just wanted to keep reading. I got completely caught up in the world of the corporate lawyers and their lives. A fantastic debut novel and I can't wait to see it on Netflix when it comes out.

Alex Vogel is an ambitious and smart Harvard graduate. She has landed herself a job at Klasko Fitch, one of Manhattan's top law firms. The pressure is on a a first year to make the right impression and stand out from the rest. She works hard and gives it her all. She soon finds herself being snatched up by the big boys for the big deals. Her world has changed to one of sleepless nights working at the office, after work drinks with the boys, mixing with the top clients. It soon becomes clear that she is going to have to go against her values and beliefs to be accepted - but for how long? Will she lose everything in order to get the job done and earn the big bucks?

Thanks so much to Hachette Australia for sending me this copy of this book to read.
