Very interesting way to structure a look at this specific part of history. The personal perspectives brought to light mostly through the correspondence of the different royals are simply heartwrenching at times.
Unfortunately, even though I was already familiar with French history and the life of Catherine de Medici specifically, I found this book hard to follow at some points and repetitive at others, as the author does go back and forth in the chronology quite a bit.
props to the audio book narrator for not butchering this trilingual castle parade
