I didn’t enjoy certain use of slurs and got confused a lot but I loved it besides that and had a great time reading this!

I don't know how to feel about this book. It was okay?? I don't really see why people are so obsessed with it. Will I continue? Probably. But it's eh.

I went into the foxhole court excited for the romance I had heard so much about. While the romance did not come much into play in the first installment, the character development and complexities of the foxes has me hooked.
That being said, there were a few things I had issues with. For one, slurs are used repeatedly for no reason, which makes reading this feel uncomfortable. Additionally,
Nicky’s assault on Neil was just brushed over?? And
the plot ebbs and flows, with some parts being a bit confusing.

this is my trash reality tv. i cannot call this good, but it's so entertaining - i was hooked when i first read it years ago, and i'm hooked now. i didn't devour it, it devoured me.

This one may have been a little overly hyped for me. I was not overly invested in the story until the very end (at which point I was absolutely reaching for Raven King) The book starts with the reader as lost and confused as Neil seems to be (I'm pretty sure this was intentional though, and I just don't like not knowing what is going on, so it is likely a me thing). The book as a whole felt like a lot of setup, and the whole club scene made me a lot uncomfortable. As a sports person, I would have also loved a basic Exy explainer in this book.

ALL OF THIS being said, I am fully writing this review after having plowed through the rest of these books and it was absolutely worth it to work through this one to get to the next two (I haven't done sunshine court yet)
