This felt like the lengthy diatribes of a Scottsdale Karen complaining about anything she can find to feel bothered by. A few moments of humor but overall, just felt like a night spent with that one really negative coworker.

Shook the bed laughing and trying not to wake my husband. Until the end she freaking Notaro decided to remind us all of the mortality of the pets we give our hearts to. Sob.

I don't think I'm really the target audience for this book, but still felt I was learning something and being invited into a conversation (or multiple conversations) that I would normally be left out of (see earlier 'target audience' comment). Or perhaps I was being invited to stand in the back with my mouth shut during these conversations. Either way, I liked a lot about this book, but wasn't totally swept up in it. Got it on 'first reads'.
