It's a classic! You've got to read it to see all of the ways it shows up in our current culture.

So, I'm currently catching up on some required reading that I skipped on when I was in high school and, uh, I just wanna know what was 16 year old me doing back then that she couldn't be bothered reading this because I enjoyed Romeo and Juliet way more than I expected tbh. Ignoring the fact that these characters are all just a bunch of dumb bitches, I adore the writing cause it's just so wonderful and clever, I can't even be too critical of the plot itself because it was written like 400 years ago, like, you gotta adjust your expectations a bit when you go into it. All in all, this was fun.

Written in play format so reading this like a book is boring but acting it out with several friends can easily help put the dialogue and actions into perspective.

Review written on the 13th February 2021:
I read this book about 3 years ago and it remains in my mind. It is so beautiful and wonderful I wish I could read it for the first time!
Everyone knows the main story of Romeo and Juliet, but what about the insides of the story? The family feud and crazy plots? It remains hidden from the non-reader's eye.
Though this is a smaller review, do not think it means that the book doesn't have much to say. I am simply giving you a bigger appetite for this one-of-a-kind love story.
