Loved this one, made me laugh, would love more humour in the others

I really like Haeden. This book was good, I really like how much this series has expanded the ice planet universe. The whole enemies to lovers trope in this one is pretty good.

Main trope was enemies to lovers, but it is actually done well. There was such a slow burn that lasted a pretty large portion of the book.

Josie is so ridiculous for thinking she would just
leave by herself and go off into the wild just to get away.
That is just so dramatic and STUPID. She has really been through it in life and her backstory made me like her so much more than how she was portrayed in other books. Haeden was incredible and so perfect. I really liked them together and it was like they both went through actual character growth in order to be together. Relationship-wise, this was one of my favorites of the series.

I didn't enjoy this story as much as the others, it felt a lot longer and slower. Enemies to lovers doesn't even sound right for this one, they legit "hated" each other and there was no communication for 50% of the book. Their relationship just wasn't satisfying for most of it, but they both also had rough backstories. It took a long time to get past it, and a lot of bad assumptions to finally learn better. At least it turned out sweet

Of the six Barbarians books I've read, I have to say, this one is probably my favorite; it offers a unique dynamic with the characters, and I really enjoyed how Josie had very legitimate reasons for not being on board with who her mate was.  I really liked Haeden as a character, and his own reasons for being the way he is were so valid, and I didn't fault either of them for their struggle to connect and communicate; it didn't feel forced, and they were very effectively set up to be enemies to lovers, and that dynamic worked spectacularly.  Plus, the slow burn and tension was a refreshing change.

Really 4.7 ⭐️ out of 5, nearly perfect book!

Reading other reviews I thought I’d find a lot of people living for this one because of how complex the story and the characters were, and while people love it, for some reason a lot of people really hate Josie.

Slightly enemies-ish to lovers. Cute.
