The trigger warnings at the beginning of this book are there for a reason. There are scenes in this book that are extremely hard to read, so if you are sensitive to said scenes please don’t read this as they can be very triggering. Your mental health matters.
Sinister purpose by Tierney Alina Eddy is the second installment to Hold On a rockstar novel. It is about a girl and a guy (Sebastian Cox and Alina Timber) who meet in detention in high school. To read my review on Hold on you may find it on my page.
In book 2 Sebastian and Alina face very hard obstacles in there life without knowing how to communicate there trauma where also new trauma is created. There is very triggering episodes and scenes in this book that are hard to stomach as they can be very real situations in some peoples lives. This is a journey where trauma can be very destructive in your relationship and what can always happen if not channeled properly, leading to poor decisions. Which can sometimes lead to more harsh events creating more emotional damage then it was supposed to be.
I found this book very relatable in some situations as I connected to it through some of the same emotional trauma that I’ve endured. It was triggering but I finished it because the healing process aside from the gore of the actions of the characters were eye openers on how your lover should be there for you in hard situations and how they should treat you.
I give this book 5 stars because it was well written, Tierney executed the character personalities beautifully with all the spunk and all the rock to go with it. My favorite bands were listed and added music was written into some situations making some things understandable in moments as I connect to music the way these characters do. I love how manic this book was and what happens when people are cornered in situations and how feral they can become to survive. Because that’s what this book installment is about. Just surviving the things that life tears from you and rips you to shreds with there teeth. The smut in this book is superb and there’s so much that goes into it. 5 starts to you Tierney, bash is absolutely exquisite.
