If you go into reading this book knowing you’re basically going to be reading a Hallmark Christmas movie, you won’t be disappointed. It will get you into the holiday spirit with a quick & cute holiday story about new beginnings, traditions, & reunited family.

Ivy Perkins is newly divorced and she sets out to start a new life by buying an old farmhouse. With a failing career and endless home repairs ahead of her, Ivy can not get in the holiday spirit. While cleaning out a closet in the old farm house, Ivy finds a Santa suit with a child’s letter in the pocket asking for a Christmas miracle: bring her dad home for Christmas. Ivy makes it her mission to find out if this child got her Christmas wish and a long the way she makes new friends who help her regain her holiday cheer.

Cutesy little hallmark-esque story. I wish it had more character development. Overall a sweet and short book.

What a cute read! Honestly, this one could easily be finished in one day if anyone is looking for an adorable, quick Christmas romance (it only has like 207 pages or something?) - Ivy was a likeable character as she navigates starting over in a new town full of rich Christmas history. I enjoyed it!

DNF 40% in. I picked this up randomly on Libby as an audio because it was Christmasy and really short, but I was utterly bored.

THE SANTA SUIT was my first experience with Mary Kay Andrews work and also my favourite holiday-themed read of the season! It has just the right balance of plot, holiday atmosphere, and romance.

Ivy Perkins is a newly-divorced woman looking for a change in her environment and her life when she buys The Four Roses farmhouse sight unseen. The previous owners left all their furniture and belongings in the farmhouse so when Ivy finds a beautifully made Santa suit with a note in the pocket, she wants to get to the bottom of it. Her quest brings her into her new community where Ivy finds more than she thought possible.

THE SANTA SUIT is such a cute and wholesome story. It's a quick read as it is only a five hour audiobook, making it very bingeable! Mary Kay's writing style is clear and concise with all of the plots and subplots coming together nicely. I loved the small town ambiance, the wonderful community connections, and the mystery of the child's note.

Given the short constraints of this novel, there's not a lot of time for developing a solid romance between Ivy and Ezra but the intention is there. The romance in this novella is minimal but heartwarming!
