I'm a very devout Catholic and it's always fun to read books about the saints. But not when they're written by people who claim to not be very religious. This book was okay, but not one I'd read again.

I should’ve guessed this book would be a little heavy, but I’m shocked at how much it hit me. Such a unique blend of history, fiction, and faith. Honestly makes me wish for more female-led scripture stories. Not only did I learn a lot, but Jehanne’s personal and endearing narrative combined with a unique writing style and hard-hitting tale makes for powerful storytelling 4.6/5

I enjoyed this overall, but it felt longer than it needed to be, especially once Joan was imprisoned. I liked reading from Joan’s point of view and I learned more about her through the authors note at the end of the book.

This was incredible. What a moving and powerful message. Written in verse, which was a first for me, but I really enjoyed it. It was beautifully done and Jehanne’s story was maddening, painful & sad but hopeful and inspiring. Loved this Joan of Arc reimagining so much!

I really liked this reimagination, and it was actually very easy to read. I feel that you can put yourself in Jehanne's shoes and it's believable that's what she was thinking. However, I was expecting a lyrical experience but was presented with a narrative parted as a poem should be. Can't say that I'm the biggest fan but I also don't hate it.
