Because we all lie. Every one of us, and whoever claims they don’t is the biggest liar of all.
The promise of a luxury resort in the Canadian wilderness, and a series of lucrative business deals, brings eight strangers together. But something isn't right with this trip, and the group might be related in ways they don't wish to remember. Trapped in the middle of nowhere survival becomes their main goal, but some secrets refuse to stay buried. As the group struggles to find help the local police are alerted to their disappearance and homicide detective Mason Deniaud, alongside search and rescue specialist Callie Sutton, embark on a search against time before something happens to the missing eight.
For a thriller this was boring as fuck. Disorganized and incongruous, the writing left a lot to be desired. I don't know if I consume too much media related to mysteries/crime or if it was just so obvious to everyone else, but I immediately knew who had done it.
There also was no need for the separate police investigation and search of the group, completely removed any tension and did nothing except try to make me care for a random doomed romance between the most clichéd law enforcement characters. He's a sad man who lost his child and wife and is trying to cope by moving to a remote location, she's a single mother juggling her work as a search and rescue officer with a husband in the brink of death, will sparks fly between them?? I do not care! There are people dying out there!!
Ending was spoon-fed to the readers, too long to be so boring, total waste of my time.
Graphic: Child death, Death, Gun violence, Violence, Blood, Grief, Car accident, Murder, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Addiction, Animal death, and Drug use

The writing here is interesting and enjoyable! It was dark, twisted, and captivating. It had me wanting to continue reading! The twists were so well thought out. Everyone has a motive.
