This is easily my favorite installment in the series. The character development pays off so well, and finally we get to see our two lovers be happy, although it does take a few more growing pains to get there. Mostly I love that this book feels like one big long therapy session. Our protagonist has been holding everything inside himself for so long, not dealing with his emotions or his problems, and so it’s very cathartic to watch him unravel his life’s story and finally start talking about his feelings. And the way the author does this— through interviews for a memoir— is brilliant. Sisky is a gem, in fact he might be my favorite character in the trilogy, he is lovable and earnest and annoying and very perceptive and I love the way he gets through to Ryan when no one else can. And I really love how pure and mature the relationship between Ryan and Brendon becomes, it is truly a new leaf on what had been a toxic relationship, and the hesitancy to mess it up a third time makes them actually getting together so much more rewarding. So yeah, much love for this book.
