Checked this out for the Katie MacAlister story. . . totally worth checking out for the Dark Ones story.
I really enjoyed the other two stories in this anthology, especially Brockway's story. I may have to add her to my must-read list.

I really really really needed a read like this right now. nice stories, good lengths, and the kind of whimsy that does the heart good. recommend.

caaaaaaats!
I thought that there would be one animal shelter that centered all the stories, but in fact it was three separate ones in three separate towns. My favorite was Cat Scratch Fever (Connie Brockaway), although it took me a while to relax into it because characters kept emphasizing the heroine had not been tested for Asperger's Syndrome. Like, take the lampshade down, you've hung it long enough. But after that, it was beautifully bittersweet.

rating based on the one story I actually liked in the collection - the middle story by Connie Brockway. The first was too weird for me - and the last I found insulting.
