Sammy and I listened to this and the next two books in the series while driving to his Grandma and Grandpa's house after Christmas. It's just what you'd expect: sentimental fluff. But, it was Christmas, and that was just what I was in the mood for.

Very sweet. Not my favorite of the series, but still heart warming.

Everytime the song that bought about this book, always brings me to tears, just as this book has.
The comparisons of the two lives that cross and connect in a special way, is just beautifully written.
The man had given what the little boy needed, just enough for the little boy bring joy to his mom one last time.
The little boy (unknowingly) gave the man what he needed, the gift of a lesson in love and the importance of being close to those you love because you never know how much time you really have with them.
A wonderful Christmas story of love and appreciation for the ones we love. More importantly it shows how God works in the smallest of ways to bring two people together in one special moment, and change both their lives in ways only he can. With love, with peace, with joy and most of all with Love.
If you have heard the song, the book us just that much more precious.
If you seen the hallmark movie, it's just the same as that but still worth the read.
If you haven't heard, seen, or read this beautiful story before. I recommend the book first, song second, and movie last. But it will most likely make you cry.

And since I'm writing this in December of 2020, what has surely been the most trying year for all of us - im wishing you all many blessings, peace, joy, and most of all Love on this joyous season. Merry Christmas everyone ❤

This is a beautiful story that reminds you of the important things in life and true spirit of Christmas. I have never read a book that made me sob-this one accomplished that.

Kisahnya cukup umum tapi tetep aja bikin nangis. Menyentuh dan hangat meskipun mudah ditebak. Sesekali perlu diingatkan indahnya kesederhanaan.

not a fan of the song but this book was pretty good. i went into thinking it was going to be cheesy but it was sadder and provoked more thought than i was originally planning on. it’s a short book and i most definitely could have read it in one sitting with there only being about 130 pages. it’s sweet and it presents Christmas in a way that i don’t think i’ve ever really thought of it before.

Nathan's mom is dying of ovarian cancer. It is Christmas and Nathan is only eight.

The story made me cry. Bawl. Four tissues and a lot of sniffing.
