I am...underwhelmed. Everything fun was in the first half of the book, when chaos dominated the scene. Then as things started coming together, I also started not caring.

I really like this series, and I think one of the things I like most is the fact that neither group - the rebels and the royals - is villified unlike so many school based books. There's no bitchy popular group who gets their comeuppance with the noble suffering nerds winning in the end - just different groups wanting different things, but whose motivations still make sense. It's nice not to have girls pitted against each other for once. Also I just love how Shannon Hale writes her characters, they remind me a little of Tamora Pierce's although I'm not sure why.

I loved this book! I was very happy to go back into the world of Ever After. I loved all the focus on Maddie since she is my favorite, but the rating is based on how odd I felt it went at the end. I liked the way it set up for the next book, but there were parts about the Evil Queen that didn't make much sense to me and felt very rushed. Besides that, I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next one.

A fun and interesting continuation of the next generation of your favorite Fairy Tale characters.

Apple is annoying, and it's ridiculous how blind she is to the situation. I'm glad they're still friends, but the story is kind of hit-you-over-the-head-obvious that Apple is a moron and thinks of no one but herself. They're still cute books, but if this obliviousness continues for very many books, I'll no longer like them.

Okay I have to take back two of the things I said after reading Book 1. Apple White is not wolf in sheep's clothing. She might be clueless or self absorbed sometimes but she is wonderful. I really really like her. She is super smart, resourceful, witty, kind, cares about her friends and awesome. Just as Raven. And the second thing was I shipped Dex and Raven, right? Dex is nice & all and the way this series goes, there is a high possibility for Raven & Dex together but... Now i wish this was a wlw series instead because Raven & Apple White are so good together. Loved seeing that side of Cerise. All the side characters or at least most of them (ahem.. Daring.. Ahem) were really sweet and rocked.

Twas an absolute pleasure to read this book. Thank you Shannon. Loved the adventures for the ingredients ❤

And one reflection ? :P seriously?? Of course it isn't reference to One Direction, silly me!
