Von den vier Büchern vielleicht das Schwächste. Aber die Welt der Spiegelreisenden ist schön, ich habe das Buch gern gelesen.

There is a LOT to unpack in this book.

- Yes, Thorn and Ophelia do spend time apart in this. When they do get back together, they have to overcome one last boundary of their love - their trust of if they wish to remain together after everything they went through in books 1 & 2.

I love Thorn. Thorn is one of those characters that I absolutely would love this to be made into a TV show/mini-series for because he is just eye candy on the page. He is tall, blonde haired, stoic, valiant, but funny, sarcastic, sweet, and caring. I just want to see all his little moments and insecurities played out as they were here.

Ophelia is becoming a stronger heroine every time we meet up with her. The more independence she gets while in her quest for truth in answers, the more I realize she is no longer the meek little girl who was thrust into a marriage of convenience.

- A lot of people do not like the infiltration/school that she visits.

I loved watching Ophelia harden and this added to her character development. The school is an important place in itself to the mystery of the splintering, but also, it allows her to realize how people on different arcs are and allows her to realize that her powers can be heightened and enlightened beyond the skills that her own arc knows.

- Who is God?

We get better explanation on who exactly god is. I feel that this is why I have to rate this down a star. I don't fully understand it, but I am going to try to rationalize my thinking.

Spoiler So. When Ophelia was young, she somehow freed someone that was present during the splintering of the earth from the mirror. How they remained captured in the mirror, that I am not quite sure about. This 'other', is someone who is doing the work of God and has written a book that pre-dated the splintering. They are constantly causing trouble and trying to shut up anybody and everyone who is trying to figure out why the earth became splintered.

You see, since the splintering, the earth has become somewhat dependent on the family 'spirits' and the automatons (machine people) that take over the work and memories. It seems to me the 'Other' and God are trying to erase the past to create a future in their liking. Those without any magical powers or any sort of 'house' spirit are ostracized in their respective arcs of where they live. Opehlia and Thorn do not like that and are trying to bring forth the truth that the Other and God are trying to snuff out and or erase.

I have an ARC of the final book on my kindle, while I am 50% certain that what I said in the spoiler bit is what the whole deal is with the Other and God, I am hoping that everything becomes a lot more clear. This book ended on a strong but scary ending and I the reviews for Book 4 by those who read it are not all that great. Still, the fact I have enjoyed 3 of 4 books makes it a pretty stellar series on my end.

... just give me my mini-series, please and thank you French television

This is vol. 3 of this gorgeous fantasy series. I picked up on way more steam punk elements in this installment, which was very fun. Getting to visit a new ark, and meeting a new cast of characters helped expand on the broken world of the arks. I also liked getting a peek at what is continuing to go down at the Pole after the events of the last book. The plot keeps getting thicker, and I honestly can't wait to see what will happen next!

What a slow burn romance! All the content is spice free or completely off page. A little violence and some mild language.

I don’t know how to explain this book. Everything about it made me so mad, but I wanted to keep reading. I wanna punch thorn in the face.
