This book was several hundred pages too long. Had the author kept it a few hundred pages shorter, it might have even made it to the 4 star range but the length of the books means it includes chapter after chapter of absolutely nothing happening and stretching out what should have been a quickly resolved conflict to weeks of heartbreak over nothing. By the time the couple is back from the third act breakup, I just wanted to throw it away.

One of the reasons the length doesn’t work is that the author doesn’t find new things to share with you about these characters. They make the same mistakes over and over and she tells us seven millions time that Olivia is short, and Carter loves Oreos. It’s so repetitive that even the intimacy between the characters isn’t worth reading in detail, everything is skimmable basically after New Year’s.

There are more books coming in this series, I genuinely hope they’re shorter because I really want to know what happens for at least two of the other guys.

Alright y'all. CARTER BECKETT HAS MY WHOLE HEART. OLIVE IS SUCH A SWEETHEART. This book was amazing. The two MCs learn so much from each other and you really feel their chemistry and emotions. I cried multiple times and I hardly ever cry in books. Carter is a golden retriever for sure, all he wants is Olive's happiness, though he does stumble a bit to get there. Olive can be pretty unsure of herself and second-guesses a lot of things, but as a fellow woman in my mid-20s, I get it. Their love is beautiful. JUST READ IT ❤
