I am sorry if you were forced to read this like me. If you enjoyed it: good for you, if you suffered like me: I feel you.
I just can't see why anybody would like Faber or this story. I've read books before, where you weren't supposed to like the mc but at least they had a personality, charcter development and a compelling story. All things i miss here.
And the pace is just sooooo slow...

okay so the writing style is not that bad but it's so annoying to read and there is no payoff, like just why the incest? Also when he knows she's his daughter and still doenst care it's just not it, also how often the n word is said and the racism is just ew, wouldn't recommend this book to anyone (I had to read it for school wouldnt have finished it otherwise)

I read this book for school which is to say I wasn't really motivated. The writing isn't special neither is the plot. It's a book you read through easily and then just forget about it. I don't see why this book qualifies as a classic.

It's well written but I despise the main character. Also Hanna deserved better!
