Slightly more substantial than a candy bar. A definite tip of the hat to Diana Gabaldon and Twilight. I am looking forward to the next in the series, as everyone needs a candy bar sometimes!

I listened to the audiobook for this one - 24 hours long - but it was amazing and the narrator was brilliant! I really enjoyed this book and I loved the world building and the magic and creatures.

One of my favorite parts was when (spoilers-) the Witches, demons and vampires spent those days together in the Bishop’s house and bonded over movies and scrabble - how sweet was that?! Now I really need the second book to see how the time walking turns out. I love time travel in general so I’m really excited for this!!

Not sure how I feel about this book. There was good parts and there were parts that were, eh? I found the concept of the book very interesting but I don't think I like any of the characters really. I sort of liked the Aunt (Sarah) but for the rest of them I really didn't care what happen to them.

There was really interesting parts but than I feel the author bored you till the next climax. I couldn't remember why I stopped listening to this one in 2021. But now I do. I find the magic and paranormal part of the book interesting but I'm not sure it was interesting enough to continue with book 2.

This book does not live up to its promise. Aside from the main character, all of the others are static and, frankly, boring. The main character, Diana, isn't much better. She's a supposedly mature and well-respected individual who acts like a spoiled child. Her willful behavior and stupid stubbornness is construed as bravery and for some reason, everyone around her rushes to absolve her of any blame or fault.
The story is unnecessarily complicated and too long, as well.
I haven't read the Twilight series, but I imagine that this is the adult version.
