much I fall in love with each new book she puts out. The writing is perfection and I get lost in the story every. Single. Time. I want to live in the world she creates.
While Luke played a pretty pivotal role in Burying Water, I never really felt any connection to him so I was really interested in reading his story to find out more. Once he was really introduced and I began to learn more and more about him, it wasn't hard to fall for him. I want to be in the condo parallel to him, watching him get into the shower, cuddle with his dog or work on those sexy abs.
I really wouldn't mind being Rain for those reasons but also because she's a strong female character and a refreshing change of pace for a NA romance. She's not a pushover, she's not naive or broken. She's smart and fierce and just trying to do her job and do what's right for everyone involved.
I found myself really interested in Warren and can't help but feel like he needs a story. He was a sort of silent hero in all of this; always looking out for Clara but also showing a softer side for what she was going through.
There wasn't really much that I didn't enjoy about this book, which explains why it's 3:42 am and I'm writing this review, because I couldn't go to sleep until I finished the book.
I am simultaneously sad that this book is over and excited to find out what K.A. Tucker has in store for us next.

Wow, I adored this Been asleep all day as I was up and in a horrific amount of pain thanks to the coil. Haven't started the book yet. Will do soon xx and read it in a day as I could not put it down!
It carries on from the first book in the series burying water but is focused on Jesse's best friend Luke.
This series is a bit darker than K A Tuckers other series but I think tha.1t makes it even more amazing.
The characters were so full of personality and layers.
This series is definitely becoming one of my favourite romance series.

Becoming Rain wasn't nearly as good as Burying Water (easily a top 5 star read), but as with all KA Tucker books, the story grabbed my interest right away and had me flipping through the pages. Like her other romantic suspense books, I felt as though I really knew the characters and became emotionally invested in the potential for something to grow between the two main characters- Luke and Rain. I also love that we got to see a glimpse of Alex and Jesse's life back in Sisters, even if it was only for a short scene.

KA Tucker always surprises me with everything I read by her, and I definitely plan to continue the series!

It's the almost-universal question: How do you get the guy to notice you? For Clara Bertelli AKA Rain Martines, it's a question upon which her job and her future depends.

Luke is a young man with tons of ambition, and he doesn't mind bending the law a bit if it means he can be a success. His Uncle Rust, the only father figure he has ever known, operates one of the largest and most sophisticated car theft rings in the northwestern United States. Rust has been working with the young man, prepping him for the eventuality of taking over the car repair shop--a totally legal clean place that fronts for the theft ring. Luke is at last ready to assume both the management of the garage--the legal side--and to dabble in the fast-women, fast-monied world of car thievery--a world that involves the Russian mafia and a host of international shady characters.

Clara is on a deadline. As an FBI agent whose warrant is about to expire on young Luke, she has to get him not only to notice her, but eventually to trust her. But as the two become better acquainted, she sees in him sparks of goodness that ignite her life in ways she hadn't expected when the assignment began.

This is a love story that includes suspense that aptly seasons the entire book. Elizabeth Louise and Josh Goodman were a stellar narration team. Louise was the perfect Clara. Her inflections and diction were a real pleasure to listen to. Goodman was Luke in every way you can imagine. He could communicate the guy's devil-may-care swagger probably very much the way Tucker envisioned it.

The F-bomb falls moderately often here, and while there aren't scores of sexual descriptions, they do exist. I hovered over the forward-by-phrase feature in my book player on occasion.

That said, this was one I put down only grudgingly and then for brief moments until it was finished. I highly recommend reading the first book in this series for a more meaningful experience with this one.

DNF at 29% - Chapter 16. I'm simply not interested in it at this point.

02/28/2016 - Decided to give it another chance.
02/29/2016 - Whether my opinion changed or the book became more interesting, I'm glad I finished it.

Only reason it's not 5⭐️ is cause of the end. It was kinda disappointing and, I know this is a small detail but they never once said "I love you" to eachother the whole book.

Whoa. What an awesome book. This one had me engrossed from the beginning. The fact that it's basically a love story mixed with a crime story was awesome. I love to read crime and I love to read romance and although this was more a crime novel than anything it still has its romantic sections. Especially since the storyline is based on a cop going undercover and becoming her targets girlfriend to get information and a bust for the case. It has you thinking about how many lines will crossed and what's really going on, across all the different aspects of this story. Kept me guessing the whole time. I also loved how we got a glimpse of Jesse, Alex and Sheriff Gabe in this one too. How it's a slightly intertwined novel with Burying Water, but at the same time being a completely separate novel that could be read as a standalone. A fantastic read. I'd love to read another book about Luke and Rain just to see what happens after that ending. Loved this one and would definitely recommend.
