It's really a life about Sex, Drugs and Rock n' Roll. I was expecting something more interesting when it comes to the creation of his songs and all the Brian Warner universe, but is still quite curious, it made me want to read more about rockstars.

i really don't care what you think about marilyn manson or his music. the book was genius. he wrote very well and was able to really give you a clear idea of what his life was like and what it wasn't like. he included his writing and his rejection letters and it really made me feel like i knew a little bit about him.
also - the man sure knows how to end a book. the ending was absolute genius. it blew my mind.

Toen ik 18 was heb ik dit boek al een keer gelezen maar nu met heel veel meer plezier en begrip. Het is inspirerend en bewonderingswaardig. Hij is al een keer herrezen en dat is hij nu anno 2024 weer aan het doen.

I loved this book. I had read many biographies and I would have to say this just may be the most one by far. Marilyn talks about so many dark things that most other writer would not choose to write about, making thing much different then others.

Overall, this book is a compelling read for fans of Manson and those interested in the darker side of the music industry. It's a candid and brutal autobiography that doesn't shy away from the controversial aspects of Manson's life, making it a fascinating, if not always comfortable, read.

Even at 17 I thought Manson might be taking himself a little bit too seriously.
2021 edit: Christ, he was serious about some of that? I always thought a mark of a good stage persona was the ability to switch it off, to be yourself. Now it seems there is no Brian, it's all Marilyn - a very dangerous man who has hurt people; I hope they can heal.
