God I love the BBW universe so much.
Eli is def one of my fav character and I couldn't wait to read more about him. Loved Julien equally and I can't wait to see where they will go next.

Full disclosure, I have not read the original series that this is a spin-off of. I was entertained enough that I'll pick it up though!
Julian rolls into town to try to connect with his dead brother via the last mystery he was investigating when he died. Eli finds him breaking into his retreat for werewolves and I get the feeling that crime is a turn on. Eli has no interest in hooking up with a human but needs must.
They team up to solve a mystery after they keep bumping into each other during separate breaking & entering endeavors and had banter for days. I would like to say their first intimate scene together was super hot considering one half of them had absolutely no idea what he was doing. But that part up against the door? Top marks.
I plan to continue reading this series as it rolls out.
Thank you to Harper Audio for a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own.

3´5 to be precise.
I´m a bit confused with this one. Has it ever ocurred to you that you pick a book expecting something and then you get another one which is different but not precisely in a bad way?
´Cause that´s what happened to me.
I think since the plot was about werewolves I expected more focus on that, on the dynamics between packs, more suspects, more wolves, more everything. Idk. It also may be because this is the first book I pick of this author and came here with no context at all (which is why I found hard to connect with this world of werewolves).
Despite of that, I found this to be a nice and cozy thriller, so I cannot say I´m exactly disappointed.
I´m definitely curious now and want to read more of this author.

I enjoy Eli's sassy, lively personality with Julien's more reserved, anxious personality. They're very sweet together. Melty, subby Eli was delightful and I was esp pleased to hear that Eli is a tip-toe walker. I've never seen that in a book before and it was amazing.

This was my second attempt at reading the novel, and the first time that I did complete it. I think for my initial read, I was either not in the mood or did not understand what I was getting myself into when I first started reading the novel (especially because it follows a character that was a side character in an earlier novel series by Adhara).
However, when I resumed the novel again I was quickly ensared by the two mysteries that are in play during the course of the novel, and how Julian and Eli are navigating the clues, suspects, and their distrust/growing commraderie and affectoion - while Eli also attempts to protect the secrets of werewolves from Julian.
Without getting into spoilers, the pacing, dialogue, banter, comedic moments, and overall world building was great, and I realized that even without reading the earlier connected series, I was not actually struggling to keep up with the course of events in the novel. I also liked this take on paranormal romance and werewolves, and also am curious to see how Eli and Julien advance forward as characters, and even together.
